YMCA Bangalore initiated DRIP CHECK 2026 to address growing concerns of water scarcity, pollution, climate change, and unequal access to clean drinking water. The program targets Degree level students, using unconventional, fun-learning approaches to foster environmental responsibility. The theme “Every Drop Counts – The Gen Z Way” creates a platform for youth to express ideas and solutions on water conservation through creative, relatable formats.
The event includes an Inaugural Programme with Opening Prayer by Mr. Saron Raj N, Program Assistant YMCA Bangalore. Dr. Daniel Rathnakar. J, General Secretary YMCA Bangalore welcomed the gathering with the Keynote Address by Mr. Shaik Salman, Youth Leader and Animator, Coordinator – St. Joseph’s Outreach, Bengaluru. Mr. C. Ramenglien Traite, Trainee Secretary YMCA Bangalore gave the overview of the program. Dr. Kiran Jeevan, Principal, UMDC and Rev. Inbaraj Jeyakumar, Vice President YMCA Bangalore bought their greetings.
The core sessions were:
- Session 1: Water Matters – Why Should I Care
- Session 2: POVs – The Gen Z Way
- Session 3: Closing Remarks The program ended with a lunch where students are encouraged to take the ZERO FOOD WASTE CHALLENGE.



World Environment Day :
The YMCA Bangalore organized a World Environment Day Programme on 5th June 2026 at Sharon School,Jalahalli, Bengaluru, with the theme “Speak for Planet: Voices for a Greener Tomorrow.” The programme aimed to encourage students to become advocates for environmental sustainability by expressing their thoughts and concerns about environmental issues through public speaking. The programme was graced by the presence of Resource Person’s Dr.Raghavendra A. H., Consultant, Horticulture Projects and Trustee, Bangalore Environment Trust, and Mrs.Mariamma Thomas, Educator, Children’s Movement for Civic Awareness (CMCA) and Member of HSR Citizens Forum. Both the chief guests addressed the students and emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship, sustainable living, and individual responsibility in protecting natural resources. They encouraged the participants to become environmentally conscious citizens and to take active roles in creating a greener and healthier future.

The World Environment Day Programme 2026 successfully created awareness about environmental conservation among students and inspired them to become responsible citizens committed to protecting the planet. Through the theme “Speak for Planet: Voices for a Greener Tomorrow,” the programme empowered young participants to use their voices as tools for positive change and reinforced the importance of collective action towards a sustainable future.
