CPR TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
The YMCA Bangalore organized a “CPR Training and Certification” programme on 21st November 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at YMCA, Nrupathunga Road. This initiative was proposed by Rev. Dr. P. Sethu, President of YMCA Bangalore, and conducted by the Cardiological Society of India, Karnataka Chapter. It received support from Rotary Bangalore Peenya, Lions Club, Sun Pharma, and Making India Heart Strong. Approximately 100 participants attended the training, acquiring essential skills, and all attendees were awarded certificates.
National Hi-Y Assembly 2025
The National Hi-Y (High School YMCA) Assembly on the theme “Youth For a Just and Sustainable Future: Rise Together” was held from 1st to 3rd August 2025 at Dhivyashanthi Retreat Centre, Yercaud, Salem, Tamil Nadu. A strong delegation of about 76 youths attended the assembly. Mr. RAmenglien Traite, Trainee Secretary YMCA Bangalore along with three youth volunteers of YMCA attended the assembly.


39th Regional Conference and Ruby Jubilee Inauguration
The YMCA Bangalore successfully hosted the 39th Regional Conference and meeting for the South Central Region of YMCAs on 18th and 19 th July 2025, at the YMCA Hall in Bangalore. This significant event brought together leaders, members, and delegates from across the region under the unifying theme: “Bridging Generations and Inspiring Hope.” Prof. Alex Thomas, the Regional Chairman of SWIR, delivered the keynote address,
while Mr. J. Dudley Fenn, President of Nagercoil YMCA, served as the Guest of honour. Mr. Rajiv Kunwar John, Director of the Training and Leadership Department at NCYI, along with his trainees, also participated in the conference. Sessions were led by Mr. Rajiv Kunwar John and Rev. Dhanaraj, Executive Secretary of Udupi YMCA. Rev. Dr. P. Sethu, President of YMCA Bangalore; Rev. Inbaraj Jeyakumar, Vice President of YMCA Bangalore and Vice Chairman of SCYIR; Mr. Shettian, Chairman of SCYIR; Dr. Daniel Rathnakar J., General Secretary of YMCA Bangalore; Mrs. Jeba Jyothi; and the staff and volunteers from the YMCA Women Empowerment Centre attended the conference. The programme concluded with a fellowship lunch.
YMCA FOUNDERS' DAY
The YMCA Founders’ Day was celebrated on 6th June 2025 at City YMCA. YMCA staff, YMCA college students, Mrs. Dorcas, Pearl, General SEcretary of YWCA and few board members of YWCA and Mr. Rajiv John, Director of National Council Training Department participated in this programme. Mr. Daniel Rathnakar. J, General Secretary, YMCA Bangalore welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Rev. Rev. Dr. Prof.A. Israel David, Designate Principal, U.T.C, Bangalore brought God’s message and acknowledged the work of Shri. George Williams and the YMCAs world over. Rev. Dr. P. Sethu, Treasurer, YMCA Bangalore presided over the function. The programme concluded with a fellowship lunch.


INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2025 at 8.00 a.m. at City YMCA. Dr. Daniel Rathnakar.J , General Secretary of YMCA Bangalore welcomed the gathering. Dr. Vijaykumar.D, Sports injuries surgeon, Sparsh Hospital, Bangalore was the chief guest and delivered the Independence Message. . Rev. Dr. P. Sethu, President, YMCA Bangalore hoisted the flag followed by the March past by the YMCA Physical Education college students. The programme concluded with a fellowship community breakfast.
WORLD YMCA/YWCA WEEK OF PRAYER
9TH TO 15TH NOVEMBER 2025
YMCA/YWCA WEEK OF PRAYER: The inaugural worship service for the World Week of Prayer 2025 was organised by YMCA, YWCA and SCMI on 9th November 2025 at YMCA Bangalore. The theme- “Prayer as Jubilee,” was explored through a message delivered by Rev. Jacob P. Thomas, a professor at U.T.C, Bangalore and Dept. of Mission and Ecumenism. Approximately 100 attendees participated in the service.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
Christmas Celebration: The YMCA Bangalore celebrated the Christmas on 12th December 2025. Rt. Rev. Dr. Vincent Vinod Kumar, Bishop , CSI-K.C.D delivered the Christmas message, and Mrs. C.P. Jeseena, P.F Commissioner, Bangalore -II was the guest of honour. Around 400 people joined the celebration which was followed by fellowship dinner.
THANKS GIVING WORSHIP
On the first Monday of New year, 5th January 2026, a “Thanks Giving Worship” was organised at City YMCA Main Hall, Nrupathunga Road, Bangalore – 560001. Rev. Augustine Jai Kumar, ACTS Christalaya church, Sarjapura Road, Bangalore was the main speaker on the day and delivered an inspiration message. Rev. Dr. P. Sethu, President, YMCA Bangalore and Mr. Rajiv John, Director of YMCA Training Department brought out greetings . Around 100 people participated in the programme which includes YMCA staff, Faculties and students of YMCA College of Physical Education. The programme was followed by Fellowship lunch thereafter.


Republic Day Celebration
The YMCA Bangalore celebrated 77th Republic day on 26th Jan 2026 at City YMCA, Nrupathunga Road, Bangalore – 560001 at 8.00 a.m. Mr. N. Nagaraja, Supt. of Police(retd) , Karnataka State Police Service was the Chief Guest and hoisted the flag. Rev. Dr. P. Sethu, President, YMCA Bangalore presided over the function. The programme concluded with a Fellowship breakfast.

General Secretary reported that Annual General Body meeting of YMCA Bangalore was conducted on 30th August 2025. 34 full members were present and the meeting concluded with a fellowship dinner.
